Nivalis Nights Mods: Installing BepInEx (Official Stance)

505 says modding is out of scope, but three BepInEx mods are already live on Nexus Mods. What each one does, and how to install them safely.

Nivalis Nights Mods: Installing BepInEx (Official Stance)

Nivalis Nights has no official mod support, and the developer says so in one line — yet four third-party mods are already on Nexus Mods, three of them BepInEx plugins installable in five minutes.

Official source: Nivalis Nights | How to / FAQs (2026) — "Does Nivalis Nights support modding tools?" → "This isn't part of the game's scope at the moment."

That matters less as a prohibition than as a promise nobody has made: 505 has not committed to keeping mods working, blessed a loader, or addressed bug reports filed with a mod installed.

What 505 Actually Said About Modding

The modding question sits in the TECHNICAL INFO block of the official FAQ, and the answer is four words long. Its neighbours set the context: no DLSS or FSR, because the game's Unity version is "quite dated" and does not support upscaling, and an upgrade "would have added too much risk to the development".

That is a reason, not a promise. No engine upgrade has been announced, and no official mod support either, so as things stand every mod here is a memory patch aimed at one build. That is why the authors pin the loader build they tested, and why the trainer page warns that "game updates may require a trainer update".

The FAQ never warns against third-party modding tools and says nothing about account actions — silence, not permission.

The Four Mods on Nexus Mods, Captured 2026-09-30

The Nivalis Nights page on Nexus Mods listed Mods 4 / Collections 0 / Media 0 at roughly 14:10 UTC on 30 September 2026 — all four uploaded that day, after the 29 September launch. Sorted by the listing's download counter:

Mod Author Uploaded (Nexus-listed) Downloads Size What it changes
Nivalis Nights Trainer Gutwormy 30 Sept 2026, 8:36 AM 167 35.0 KB MelonLoader trainer and item spawner with an F1 menu: greenhouse growth, unlimited items, time skip, money and skills editing, relationship levels, item spawning
Nivalis - FIFO BGASM 30 Sept 2026, 8:00 AM 58 3.0 KB BepInEx plugin: cooks use the stock closest to spoiling instead of the newest
Custom Time Multiplier dazawmbie 30 Sept 2026, 8:00 AM 36 2.0 KB BepInEx plugin: change how fast in-game time flows, edited from a .cfg file
Manager Order Fix BGASM 30 Sept 2026, 1:57 PM 20 9.0 KB BepInEx bug fix: managers stop over-buying, plus optional vendor sort modes

Three caveats. Counters move fast on a launch day: the trainer was past 160 by mid-afternoon, and the fourth mod appeared under an hour before my capture. Nexus also counts inconsistently — the FIFO listing shows 58 downloads, its file page 5 unique. And the trainer is not a BepInEx mod.

Installing a BepInEx Mod on Nivalis Nights

The shipping build is IL2CPP, not Mono — that decides which BepInEx you need, and picking wrong is the failure everyone hits.

Get the IL2CPP bleeding-edge build, not the stable one

Nivalis - FIFO and Manager Order Fix both name the same three dead ends: BepInEx 5.x (Mono only), BepInEx 6 builds marked Unity.Mono or NET, and BepInEx 6.0.0-pre.2 from GitHub. Both pin build 788 of the bleeding-edge branch.

The steps, as the FIFO and Manager Order Fix pages give them:

  1. Find the game folder: in Steam, open Nivalis Nights → Manage → Browse local files. The game is Windows-only at launch.
  2. Download the loader from BepInEx's bleeding-edge builds: BepInEx-Unity.IL2CPP-win-x64-6.0.0-be.788+5b766a3.zip. Those pages say newer builds will probably work, but that only 788 is tested.
  3. Extract the zip into the game folder, not a subfolder — BepInEx expects to sit beside the executable.
  4. Launch once, wait for the main menu, then close. BepInEx builds its folder structure on first run.
  5. Drop the .dll into BepInEx\plugins\ — NivalisFifo.dll or NivalisOrderFix.dll.
  6. Launch and check BepInEx\LogOutput.log for Use Oldest First loaded or Manager Order Fix loaded. No line means the loader did not attach.

Configs appear after that first launch: Manager Order Fix writes BepInEx\config\will.nivalis.orderfix.cfg; Custom Time Multiplier ships a .cfg for the multiplier (default 30 against the game's original 60).

The Trainer Runs on MelonLoader, Not BepInEx

The trainer page has separate requirements: Nivalis Nights version 1.0 and MelonLoader 0.7.3 or later, not included in the download. Install MelonLoader, launch once, close, extract the trainer's Mods folder into the game folder so Mods\NivalisTrainer.dll sits inside it, then press F1 in game. Its log is MelonLoader\Latest.log. Neither loader's page documents running both, so check each log independently.

I read the trainer's install and requirements in full, not all of its feature list. Its time skip has a cost: skipped time passes without you and no autosave is made.

What Breaks First, and How to Keep Your Save Safe

Patch day is the predictable failure. Nivalis - FIFO and Manager Order Fix both say they were "tested on the launch build of Nivalis Nights" — build 1.0 — and the trainer's note is blunter: features can go UNAVAILABLE after a game update. Nothing here is broken; a memory patch aims at one build, and the first patch moves it.

The official saving guidance is your safety net: the game autosaves at the end of each day, you can save manually from the Pause Menu, and the developer recommends saving manually before you quit so you keep progress since the last autosave. Saves sync through Steam Cloud, so a save made with a mod active follows you to another PC.

Save manually before you install anything, and again before you roll one back

That "saves are unaffected" line is the mod author's word, not 505's. Keep a manual save from before the mod existed, and take another before removing a mod you have played with.

For real bugs the official channel is support.505games.com — and say so if a mod is installed, because a load order nobody else has is a different bug.

Which Mod Is Worth Your Time

Manager Order Fix has a number behind it: same save, same hour, 37 units bought before and 19 after, because one line in the purchase loop reset the count at every vendor. If your managers and staff overspend, this is the fix, and its three optional vendor sort modes — cheapest, nearest or balanced — also touch where you buy ingredients. It works alongside Use Oldest First and warns only against other mods that change how managers buy ingredients.

Nivalis - FIFO fixes a real waste loop: the base game pulls the newest stock, so fresh eggs go out and aging eggs rot in the fridge. It sorts by time left before spoilage, not purchase date, so chilled items behave correctly across cooking, storage and transfers.

Custom Time Multiplier deserves the most thought: its author flags that female customer eating animations bug out on anything but the original 60. A faster clock compresses your prep windows too — read the day-night guide first.

The trainer is for testing builds, not a first playthrough — a modified save can behave oddly.

None of the four touch what players ask for most. The character creation answer is a design decision no mod here changes.

FAQ

Does Nivalis Nights support mods? Not officially — "This isn't part of the game's scope at the moment." In practice four exist, all third-party and unsupported.

Do I need BepInEx for all of these? No. FIFO, Manager Order Fix and Custom Time Multiplier all need BepInEx 6 bleeding-edge, Unity IL2CPP; the first two pin build 788. The trainer needs MelonLoader 0.7.3 or later.

Will these mods break my save? Nivalis - FIFO and Manager Order Fix both say saves are unaffected — but that is the modder's word, not the developer's, so save manually before installing and before rolling back.

Will they still work after the first patch? Unknown. FIFO and Manager Order Fix are pinned to the launch build; the trainer's page says game updates may require a trainer update.

How do I uninstall? Delete the .dll — Mods\NivalisTrainer.dll for the trainer, the file in BepInEx\plugins\ for the rest — then restart and check the log.

Can a mod give me third person or a custom character? Not from this page: two small gameplay mods, one time multiplier, one trainer.
